4 Tips To Help You Reach Your New Years Fitness Goals

Are you losing momentum from your New Year’s resolution goal? Don’t!  Whether the goals you have set for yourself are small or large, Here are four tips on how you can stay committed to your fitness goals throughout the year.

1. Attitude

Your attitude plays a major role when setting goals, and defines how bad you want to succeed. A positive attitude will help increase energy levels, and having higher levels of energy will excite you more about what you are working towards. Not only will your attitude give you the drive you need, it can also assist with encouraging and motivating others with their goals as well.

As you are on your path to success, remember to speak positive affirmations about your goals. The way you think about your goals determines how you will conquer them. If you are continuously doubting yourself and your abilities, you will begin to lose focus on why you began your journey.

“Attitude is a little thing that makes a BIG difference”
-Winston S. Churchill

 2. Accountability

Holding yourself accountable when it comes to goal setting is the second key step to staying committed throughout the year. Being accountable will assist in measuring your success and progress, as well as keep you engaged with what you are striving for. By keeping track of your journey and how far you have progressed, this will accelerate your performance to work even harder towards your goals. You are now holding yourself at a different standard because you are the BOSS. You are in full control of everything you do that benefits your progress and commitment toward your goals.

At times, we may need a little extra motivation to help us stay on track. An accountability partner is beneficial, because not only are you taking control of your goal, you will have someone in your corner doing the same thing.

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
-Proverbs 27:17

3. Time Management

Do you tend to organize and plan how long you will spend on a certain activity? This should go hand in hand with your fitness goals. For example, if your goal is to eat clean foods for the next six months, you will need to manage time to shop for the foods, as well as prep and cook your foods. By starting off with a plan, it makes it easier to set time aside for everything it takes to accomplish your goals. As previously stated, you are in control of what you are working hard towards, take advantage of the time you have and use it wisely.

“There are 24 hours in a day. How are you spending your time?”

4. Nutrition

Last but not least, nutrition! Whether you are an athlete or someone who wants to live healthier and get into shape, the fact remains that nutrition is one of the most important factors when it comes to achieving your fitness goals. You can spend hours on end at the gym, but if you’re not eating the proper foods then all that time and effort was for nothing. As a founding member of PowR Meals, we know for a fact that consuming foods that are rich in nutrients will give your body the proper energy it needs to burn the right calories.

“The food you eat can be either the safest & most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison”
-Ann Wigmore

When focusing on your goals for 2016, remember that CONSISTENCY IS KEY in order to accomplish anything in life. It takes 21 days to develop a habit, habits do not appear out of the clear blue sky. They are developed through repetition of a routine. The more you work toward your goal each day, the easier it will become. Always BELIEVE in yourself and NEVER GIVE UP.
